Her Story
Barbara Millberry-Harper, lovingly known as “Wessie,” is the radiant eldest of twelve siblings. Born and raised in Maryland, she’s carried herself through life with unshakable strength, endless love, and that unmistakable flair that makes her unforgettable. Today, she calls the northwest side of Georgia home—where her joy, warmth, and zest for life continue to brighten the lives of everyone she meets.
At the heart of everything, Barbara is all about family. She is a devoted mother of five, a cherished grandmother of thirteen, and a proud great-grandmother of seventeen! Her family gatherings are legendary—filled with her mouthwatering cooking, her contagious laughter, and that magical way she can make any room come alive.
Her faith is as bold as her personality. At New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Barbara doesn’t just usher—she keeps the usher board “all the way live!” Her humor, her words, and her energy always remind people that joy is part of her ministry.
Barbara is a fun-spirited, generous soul—someone who will give her last dollar to help a loved one in need and her first smile to brighten even the darkest day. Her heart is wide, her spirit is fierce, and her presence is unforgettable.
And now, it’s time to celebrate her. On April 11th, 2026, we honor 80 years of Barbara—Wessie! Eight decades of grace, devotion, laughter, and love. Eight decades of giving her best to family, faith, and friends.
